For us, a little unusual event, but one that will definitely be worth it!
An author's reading of absurdly humorous short stories by Australian writer Cameron Sievers!
Note: The stories will be read in English. Cash donations welcome.
And how does Cameron himself describe what we can expect that evening?
"Whatever happened to truth didn't take place at a US election in 2024 or 2016; we are collectively responsible for eroding truth through passivity, inter-generational failures, and acts of blind self-interest.
To wit: none of the events in this story-cycle are true; of them happened – yet each exquisitely rendered vignette will engender a decided 'a-ha' moment for an intelligent audience, because the absurdity is grounded in the zeitgeist of contemporary news and forensic observation.
The True History of Truth in the Age of Trump (and the extracts read at this event) is an English-language masterclass that elevates the searing pointlessness of the everyday. Through the outright lies, misinformation, and disinformation – humanity takes its turn behind the screen in a savagely comic interrogation of social-realism."
