The Underground Youth symbolizes exactly what they have in the title. Underground and youth. Underground youth. Underground in youth? With the courage of young people, they embark on genres that do not sell stadiums, but are still essential for a large group of people. For people outside the mainstream, for people who are different, weighing, elsewhere. And the demand is still here! In Prague, The Underground Youth last stopped in January 2024 and sold out Café in the forest. Clear evidence that this music is now needed a little more, and therefore there is no choice but to welcome them in larger ones. Smíchov Futurum is perfect for it and we will meet there 7. 3. 2025. Tickets for 440 CZK will be purchased from Thursday, October 24, 11:00 on Futura and Goout.net. Tickets for 490 CZK. Tickets online: https://futurum.musicbar.cz/program/the-underground-youth-uk/
Craig Dryer. They arose at a time when the need for underground was not the same as before - in different countries and for various reasons. The great recession was to fully break out, and in general, the feeling that the world was well prevailed. But there are people who - although they are objectively "well" - need music like this. Angry postpunk, dramatic guitars, obscured singing. A little shoegazu, psychedelia, inspiration in classics like The Velvet Underground. Poetics in texts, bitterness, misunderstanding. But some hope. Everyone wants it.
This is exactly what The Underground Youth offers and give, for years, at a time when it seems that it is not so much needed, but it is needed just as in the time of the nirvana in Seattle and sculptures in our country. Because someone always needs this. And this band knows it very well, so he has already made thirteen records, and therefore still rides the world and does "underground". Seriously. And he tries to stick to the past in such a annoying nostalgic way, and yet… yet the band on the album is impressed. In conclusion, perhaps let us add that the band moved to Berlin from the UK. So it is originally British, but today Berlin-Based, an alt-rock band with a very fresh board, with drummer and bassist. It is a Dream Came True at a time when such bands almost do not arise at all, because they seem to be needed. Are. Come and see!
