About event
🇬🇧 Scroll for English!
🎉 The Heatwave Horror show will be opened by a "children's movie" that traumatized an entire generation. Introduction to Witches (1990) will be directed by Ryan Keating. After the screening, enjoy an after-party at the bar where you can get a horror-themed tattoo from Ann Tattoo! (Payment will only be possible in cash.)
🧙 The film Witches (1990) is a unique and imaginative work, created by the union of three original creative minds. Famous author Roald Dahl wrote the original story. Puppeteer Jim Henson (creator of The Muppets!) produced the film, providing the masks and animatronic animals at his Creature Shop studio. And finally the director Nicolas Roeg, who with wit and imagination adapted the book's original for the big screen, in which the boy hero uncovers a conspiracy of witches who want to turn all children into an army of mice. The icing on the cake is the performance of Anjelica Huston, who portrays a witch terrorizing her henchmen with a significant dose of camp.
🐁 The witches tell a dark fairy tale in which diabolical evil peeks through the thin skin of everyday life. Look forward to a macabre, yet playful and exciting experience!

🎉 Don’t miss opening night of Heatwave Horror with this ‘children’s film' that traumatised an entire generation! Introduced by guest Ryan Keating, and be sure to stick around for the afterparty where we will have live horror tattooing by Ann Tattoo! Bring cash!
🧙 THE WITCHES (1990) is the wonderfully original and inspired result of three wildly imaginative artists joining forces. Master storyteller Roald Dahl provided the source material. Muppet legend Jim Henson produced the film, with his Creature Shop crafting the witches' prosthetics and the animatronic mice and rats. And director Nicolas Roeg delivered a richly cinematic adaptation of the book, in which a young boy uncovers a witches' plot to turn all the children of England into mice. Dressed entirely in black, Anjelica Huston brings a hefty dose of camp to her role as the Grand High Witch, gleefully terrorizing her minions in this creepy fantasy.
🐁 The Witches is a dark fairy tale about the diabolical evil lurking beneath the surface of everyday behavior, always poised to strike when least expected. The tone of the film is macabre, yet also playful and exuberant.
