🎭 PROGRAM
Friday 28.8.
18:00 Nora [CZ]
[Language-free]
The performance of NORA focuses on solitude as a state that does not allow for peace or sleep. Sleepless nights reveal Nora's need for closeness, sharing and desire for any kind of interaction.
Through clown principles, playfulness and absurdity, her inner emptiness, her cruelty, but also her desire to establish a true relationship are gradually revealed. Solitude becomes a physical and existential space.
The performance was created as an author's project within the framework of studies at the Faculty of Music and Dance of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (HAMU) and is supported by the Life of an Artist foundation.
Author and performer: Adéla Vávrová
Supervision: Hana Strejčková
Length: 45 min.
20:00 Koráb bláznů [CZ, SK, NZ]
A composed evening sailing not only on the waves of the Vltava river, but also through genres. Whether the ship hits the shores of pantomime, singing, dancing, music, clowning... the entertainment for the evening will surely be taken care of. Artists from all over the world will perform and there will be no shortage of surprises!
Saturday 29.8.
10:00 What could I do... [CZ]
Puppet production followed by a drama workshop.
Maia is a little girl with an unbridled imagination who is always inventing and creating, such a little fidget. One day someone will appear on the horizon who would need something. But nobody understands him. Maia is undeterred and decides to help. The puppet production inspired by Lisa Aisato's book Luna and the Fish is full of kindness, understanding and respect.
Invented and performed by: Klára Kvasničková
Length: 50 minutes (20 minutes of production + 30 minutes of workshop)
The production with workshop is intended for children aged 4 and over.
17:00 Foxes in London [CZ, SK, UA]
Mask theater detective game.
Old hotel. Shabby elegance, faded glory, dusty carpets, corridors that remember more than they are willing to reveal. Nothing happens just once in this building. Shapes double, faces change, masks slide from one figure to another. Guests and employees alike lose confidence as to whether they are who they seem to be or just a reflection of someone else.
In a labyrinth of corridors, rooms and forgotten corners, a series of unusual events unfolds, in which chance becomes law and identity a shaky construct. Roles are exchanged, identities dissolve. Characters disappear and reappear in unexpected forms. The hotel becomes both a stage and a maze, a place where memory deceives and where the present constantly seeps through the past.
Masks here are not just a prop, but a key to a changing world in which it is not clear who is observing and who is being observed. And who does this hotel actually belong to? To those who sleep in it? To those who work in it? Or perhaps to someone quite different... foxes? Foxes in London?
Pedagogical management: Hana Strejčková
Performers: Ivana Kalová, Kristýna Koudelová, Kateřina Vernerová, Adriana Vlčková, Olesya Sydorenko
Supported by: HAMU
Recommended age: 6+
Performance length: 30 minutes
19:00 Babyball [CZ, USA, CH]
“Where did it all begin?”
Behavior patterns. Our desires. The values and beliefs we carry. An internal setting that shapes our reactions, relationships and view of the world.
A story that balances between the present and the past. It explores the level of confrontation to get the conversation going. Uncovering layer by layer, it sensitively reflects past events. It gives an opportunity for a dialogue that can at least make a little difference.
Babyball is a contemporary performative production that combines physical theater with the manipulation of objects. Explores the theme of intergenerational transmission, personal transformation, respect. Amidst the broken pieces, mother and daughter come together to find their own balance. They go back to where they grew up. They are looking for silent echoes stored in their body memory.
It is a story of many stories.

10:00-13:00 In the rhythm of comedy [CZ]
Workshop on the relationship between rhythm and acting timing:
How can an actor's sense of comedic meaning be developed through rhythmic exercises? Conscious work with tempo serves as a precise tool that keeps the viewer's attention. If comedy is schematic, can it be learned? You can't, but you can practice. The workshop will focus on the technique of actor phasing, coordination and body stylization and on the conscious perception of rhythm in relation to oneself, the space and the partner.
The lecturer of the workshop is Tomáš Čapek: Actor, director and principal of the comedy troupe Ductus Deferens. He draws his experience from years spent in engagements (Peter Bezruč Theatre, Drama Studio Ústí n. L.) and from his doctoral studies at DAMU, where he deals with physical training in stage movement. His approach to tempo is based on his active drumming experience and experience with physical comedy both as a director and as an actor. In his pedagogical and creative practice, he seamlessly connects musical procedures with the precise phasing of acting.

17:00 Mama said, jump into the mouth of crocodiles [CZ, SK, UA, RUS, E]
The story of the Buffons. Welcome to the crocodile's mouth!
The revelation of seven clumsy angels with dirty wings, living on the edge of life, always in the very center of the daily struggle with the absurdity and meaninglessness of existence. They challenge power, scream quietly in roaring whispers, grotesquely provoke with sharp black humor. They open the Pandora's box of being human, physically and humorously defeating individuality and dignity, whatever that means. They discover hidden territories of indescribable thought and feeling landscapes and seek answers to uncomfortable questions. Are they geniuses or complete fools? Anyway, hold on - the emotional ride through the social bowels of human perception begins.
Direction, pedagogical guidance: Roman Horák
Music: Luca Castaldo, Roman Horák
Costumes: Agáta Molčanová
Concept/play/performers: Ivana Kalová, Adriana Vlčková, Olesya Sydorenko, Carlos Díaz Calatayud, Óscar Nagar, Mateu Tur Bonet, Artem Vinogradov

Recommended age: 12+
Performance length: 45 minutes
20:30 Panoptikum - concert [CZ, SK]
"Few alternative bands from the garage climb to a professional approach by their own efforts and don't compromise or let it go even after a while tighten.”
– Dominik Bárt (writer)
A stinging blow to the face of the progressive psychedelic scene. In the musical landscape of Panoptikum, you will find many things - from sixties romance, wild west atmosphere to matador
prog-psychedelia in contemporary sound: odd rhythms, exotic harmonies, eighties synths and harder guitars. The Panopticon keeps you on your toes. They take their music seriously, yet
they don't lack a sense of humor. And it suits them best on a live stage. On Wednesday, May 27, at the Cargo Gallery in Prague, Panoptikum christened the new album Pizza Extrapolis, which was released on April 22 on Kabinet Records.
They have an hour-long live session Pizza Party Session (2024), the debut LP Mantichora (2022) and the eponymous EP (2018). Among other things, their collaboration with the now-deceased legend of the Czech dubbing scene – actor and longtime dubbing alter-ego of Clint Eastwood, Ladislav Županič – is worth mentioning. THE SHIPS OF THESE, a place where people like to return.
