'Thuiszitters' in het licht

The number of children not going to school continues to rise. We want to literally and figuratively put these people at home in the light.

The number of people 'sitting at home' is increasing every year. year again. A stay-at-home pact and many efforts from the educational field have not had the intended effect so far. Their school dropout has a huge impact. On these children themselves, the parents, the family, and on society.

On December 9, together with everyone who cares about those sitting at home, we will literally and figuratively support these children put it in the spotlight.

• And we will enter into discussions with those 'at home' themselves, their parents, the educational sector, members of the House of Representatives and other politically responsible people. How can we turn the tide together?

And further:

• A film and a sitters' song.
• Presentation by Theo Bakker (Vrije Universiteit) about the latest results of his research on sitters at home.
• Parent association Balans releases a new report 'Thuissitters Counting'. In it we describe the scope of the problem, misconceptions, causes, and the consequences. And we make recommendations for improvements.
