· The book ·
The book brings a unique view of the conflict whose impacts reach far beyond the limits of Ukraine itself, and shows the stories of people who find themselves in it - whether as warriors, victims or those trying to survive in conditions that most of us cannot even imagine. The singing of sirens is rough, honest and sometimes a painful probe into reality, which is geographically close to us, but often distant understanding.
· The author ·
Tomáš Forró has been moving throughout the width of the battle line in recent years - from the trenches to the front through bombed cities to the occupied territories, where he meets ordinary people, soldiers, volunteers and collaborators. The journalist gradually witnessed not only the war, but also its direct participant. In his book, he does not describe the conflict black and white - it is not a chronicle of heroism or a list of crimes of one or the other. Thanks to thorough work in the field, Tomáš Forró brings unknown stories and information that show the Ukrainian war from a new perspective, without pathos and myths that are surrounded.
