About event
Have you ever stopped thinking about everything that the buildings in Barcelona tell us?
For centuries, the city has been a canvas where great geniuses of architecture have left its mark. From the Roman walls and the Mystery of the Gothic, to the splendor of Gaudí's modernism or the most bold works of the 21st century, Barcelona is an open book, where we can tell history through its architecture and its buildings.
The architecture of Barcelona has welcomed throughout the centuries various civilizations and styles: from the first Iberians, through the Romans, through the Romans, through the Romans, Islam. In the Middle Ages, the Catalan culture and language emerged, together with the first art, Romanesque and Gothic, still visible in buildings such as the Cathedral of Barcelona. During the modern age, the city was influenced by the Renaissance and the Baroque from Italy and France. In the 19th century Barcelona lived its maximum splendor with modernism. Already in the twentieth and 21st centuries, the city hosted major events that promoted the construction of large -scale contemporary works, such as the 1888 Universal Exhibition, the 1929 International, the 1992 Olympic Games and the 2004 Universal Forum of Cultures.
Barcelona is today a world reference in architecture and urban planning, where they coexist with new styles and trends. Technologies typical of the so -called smart cities. An example of this is the 22@project, approved in 2000 by the Barcelona City Council, which transformed the Poblenou district into an innovative district where contemporary architecture coexists with industrial heritage.
With our guided route, you can discover the works of these architects and other contemporary projects that have turned the city into an international referent. Reserved at a restaurant for lunch all together and take advantage of this cultural discovery day with friends!
