Tradičný cyklovýlet do Viedne

A traditional spring trip through the Danube floodplain forests to the Viennese Pratra.

We will meet at nine under the Lafranconi bridge on the Petržalska side. We will follow the cycle path to Hainburg, cross the embankment to its end and then cross the bridge to the left side of the Danube. We will continue to Vienna along the Danube embankments hidden in the nature reserve Donau-Auen. On the way, we will stop in the town of Orth an der Donau, where we will have refreshments near the picturesque castle. We reach the center of Vienna via the recreation area Donauinsel, where the more hardy participants can possibly swim. We will relax and soak up the Viennese atmosphere in the Prater.

The route leads along cycle paths without car traffic, a small part (2 x approx. 3 km) is without asphalt surface, but can also be ridden on a road bike without any problems. Route length 65 km.

We will go in two groups. Depending on the wind, the faster group will keep the pace over 30 km/h, the slower group around 25 km/h. Of course, it will also be possible to go individually in smaller groups. At the finish line in Prater (at the location according to the map), participants will have the opportunity to meet and possibly coordinate the way back.

The return is possible by train (ideally with group tickets (Einfach Raus Ticket), from the Hauptbahnhof station to Petržalka station or to Hl. station. You can also use the line to Wolfsthal - trains leave here directly from Praterstern station, there is no need to go through the center of Vienna. The more capable can, by agreement, in groups return on bicycles along the same route.

If it rains in the morning or there is a very unfavorable weather forecast, the event will not take place.
