Dirk Bernemann's appearances at Periplaneta are a recurring, almost compulsive act, a mixture of tourette, ritual and homage- short: tradition. His books are unique, sometimes disturbing and poetic in a very abysmal manner. They often fillet the German Way of Life and sometimes they shred him too.
Mr. Bernemann lives and works in Berlin. He already celebrated his breakthrough with his debut "I saw the innocence". Since then, other short story volumes and exhaustively beautiful novels have been published by him. His current book is the novel “Kalk”. This time the author introduces his best of program. It is read and talked. And drunk. It's about literature, art and the big questions. Entertaining, controversial and unpredictable in the dynamics. Every Friday.
