About event
On November 14th are two Periplaneta authors reading their current works. Cornelius Back reads from his novel “Framed Infinity” & Mikis Wesensbitter presents his brand new not-so-short story collection “In the Waiting Room of Feelings of Happiness” for the first time.
Mikis Wesensbitter was born in 1968. By the time he was able to sit in the stroller, the revolutions in Prague, Paris and Woodstock were already history, but the whiff of unrest also blew to East Berlin... He was born in kindergarten Banned from singing along because of his deep voice and banned from writing at school because of his subversive thoughts. After the system change, he organized concerts and parties for a decade, worked as a journalist and began writing books. He immediately became a bestseller with his debut “We had nothing in the East…”.
“In the waiting room of happiness”
When Peter grows up, his homeland disappears. The fact that all his girlfriends previously disappeared from this country doesn't make things any better. That's why new bosses are coming. They know how things work. And so Peter becomes the Robin Hood of East Berlin... Marion is already grown up, has already experienced everything and finds her dream job at the housing benefit office of all places. Because compassion can even divert icebergs from their course. Carlos lives like that. Could be better. But also worse. And then he has a toothbrushing crisis.
And that changes everything.
Stories about love, life, and defiance. About anger, the desire to resist and about erotic attraction.
Cornelius Back is an author, artist and computer scientist. Born in 1985 in Stuttgart. There he attended the Uhlandshöhe Waldorf School until he graduated from high school. At the age of 21, he went to Tenerife for a voluntary social year. During this time, he cuts off all contact with family and friends in order to find out who he is when no one knows him. In order to study the brain, artificial intelligence and the philosophy of mind, he is studying cognitive science in Osnabrück. He then completed his master's degree in Automotive Software Engineering in Munich. Today he lives with his wife in Hegau and works in the field of artificial intelligence. He spends his free time mountaineering and trail running.
“Framed Infinity”
Mert was 14 when he smoked Salvia Divinorum with his two friends in order to have a mind-expanding experience. The three are disappointed that it doesn't seem to be working. However, since then, Mert's life has often seemed strange. He always finds himself in situations without being able to remember how he got there. A story about freedom, death and infinity. And about the question of whether there is a second chance.
Admission: 7 p.m., start: 7:30 p.m., entry €6 / €8.
