About event
A trip to Triglav is a great proposition for those who want to experience a mountain adventure, but they don't have time for a long trip. Climbing on Triglav is also an opportunity to conquer one of the most famous peaks of Europe.
The lack of the need for most of the season from crayfish and ice axes as well as advanced mountaineering equipment makes Triglav a great target for those who are just beginning their adventure with mountains higher than the Polish Tatra Mountains. The trip to Triglav is also a fantastic preparation before the expedition season for four -thousand Alpine or five thousand Caucasus.
The possibility of expanding the trip to Via Ferrata of the Julian Alps
Triglav is the highest peak of the Julian Alps, and at the same time the highest peak of Slovenia. It is not without reason that Triglav is in the coat of arms and on the flag of this country. It rises between the Vrat Valley in the north and the Velo Polje Valley in the south. From the north side, over a 1000-meter wall falls, which exploration played an important role in the development of Sloven mountain alpinism. Near the dome there are residues of the glacier. The name Triglav is associated with medieval Slavic beliefs, which on the top of the mountain placed the seat of a powerful Trojan - a pagan deity of water, land and underground. Triglav was recognized as a symbol of Slavicism, which is why in 1889 a priest from a nearby village, Jakob Aljaž bought the top of the mountain to be in Slovenian hands. Shortly afterwards, he erected a cylindrical tower of sheet metal for shelter from a storm, the so -called Aljažev Stołp, standing to this day. On the initiative of Father Aljaž, a hostel under the Triglava Summit was also established - a Triglavian house, where we will sleep during the trip.
