About event

With works by Arcangelo Corelli, Biagio Marini, Marco Uccellini, Nicola Porpora, Giuseppe Avitrano and others
Contributors
Members of the Academy for Early Music Berlin
Mayumi Hirasaki, violin
Georg Kallweit, violin
Jan Freiheit, Violoncello
Raphael Alpermann, harpsichord & organ
Michael Freimuth, theorbo
Margret Koell, harp
At the beginning of the 17th century, violin playing experienced a brilliant breakthrough, also thanks to the imaginative and playful sonatas of composers such as Biagio Marini and Marco Uccellini.
They sound in this program as the starting point for a journey through the colorful world of Italian chamber music, which leads to the works of Nicola Porpora and Arcangelo Corelli.
The grand master of the Roman Baroque combined beauty of melody and majesty of expression in a new and inimitable way.
