π“π«π’π¬π­π°πœπ‘ 𝐘 π…πžπ§π²π°π¨π means the "mourning of women" in WelΕ‘tina and the trio of musicians from Leeds does not use this language in itself. Their music sounds like the Celtic version of Cocteau Twins in the darkest form if it even more deepened the Gothic elements and exchanged the guitars for a double citer. The hypnotic bass, characteristic of the early post-punk, is complemented by ritual drums between Darkwave disc and mystical ceremony. Their debut was among the best albums of the year in The Quietus, Dazed and Boomkat. Under the names of Gwretsien Ferch Lisbeth (πΊπ‘’π‘‘π‘‘π‘’π‘Ÿπ‘ π‘›π‘–π‘π‘’, π‘‡β„Žπ‘’ πΈπ‘β„Žπ‘’π‘šπ‘’π‘Ÿπ‘œπ‘› πΏπ‘œπ‘œπ‘), Leila Lygad (π»π‘Žπ‘€π‘‘β„Žπ‘œπ‘›π‘›) and Sidni Sarffwraig (π‘†π‘™π‘Žπ‘¦π‘™π‘œπ‘Ÿ π‘€π‘œπ‘œπ‘›, π‘‡β„Žπ‘’), we find experienced musicians whose creation crosses genres. It is magical and irresistible. It evokes the ethereal atmosphere of 4ad classics such as this Mortal Coil or Dead Can Dance, but at the same time it looks brutally, punk and urgent.
