Vanilla croissants on your hips are so 2025 🙄 - Come over and let's have a blast together, if a tropical wave 🌊 of cumbia, merengue and salsa sloshes through the beltway arches and takes us all on a rhythmic journey to dance and party.
We have brought sun 🌅 , sand 🏝 and sweet longing 🥥 with us from the Caribbean and serve them to you freshly cooked for immediate consumption: a shot of trombone, a pinch of congas and 15 kilos of fat bass - who is still If you stand still, you are probably not conscious.
¡SABROSON! was founded in August 2022 in a small rehearsal room in Steyr. With a full 11-member line-up, the Austrian ensemble interprets hits by well-known Latin American artists such as Celia Cruz, Willie Colon and Ricky Martin, as well as their own compositions, which are characterized by driving, danceable rhythms and cheeky Austrian lyrics. The energetic concerts exude joy of life and Caribbean energy that regularly get the halls dancing. Stylistically, musical styles such as cumbia, merengue, salsa and everything in between are combined. Songs like the original composition Cadera de Madera or covers like the classic La Burrita have now found a permanent place in the hearts of the regular audience.
The background of the musicians is as colorful as the members' bright outfits: a healthy mix of Austrian musical tradition paired with Caribbean instruments and a lot of enthusiasm for experimentation.
The four-member brass ensemble combines the best of Upper Austrian brass music culture and the jazz tradition. The band's rhythm section, with a history in punk and brass music, always provides danceable rhythms and a refreshing, driving interpretation of Afro-Cuban styles using traditional Latin American instruments. The piano can look back on classical music training, while the guitar has a dark past in the Austrian black metal scene. Anna on main vocals complements the band with her roots in jazz singing and yodeling, as well as wild Bolivian drum groups.
The band has been playing on stages in Austria since November 2022.
