The Turca music tradition has always been neglected and overlooked. Everyone knows Terchov music or Podolian fujara. However, almost no one even knows how important the Turčianske bagpipes were in the past, nor that they played mandolin groupings or saxophonists in cimbalom music in the region. However, we will never know how the Turca music was exactly. The only thing we have left for these musicians is photographs, written records in historical chronicles and music of the melodies of beautiful and extremely unique songs.
The Turocienzis grouping deals with the instrumental revitalization of these songs, even using the traditional-ending musical instruments mentioned above.
For the days of architecture for you - not by chance - have prepared a program compiled mainly from the songs of the inhabitants of the village of Ratkovo. In the past, the Ratkovčany was nicknamed the metalworks. During the industrialization of the Turks, many residents of this small foothill village were postponed by scythes and rakes for part of the day, replaced the costumes for overalls and went to work on the railway to Vrútky or to the newly emerging factories in Martin. And maybe just to the chair…
