October 11, Saturday 18:00

Prenzlauer Allee 227–228, 10405 Berlin

Kira Yarmysh is the press secretary of Yulia Navalnaya and a long-time ally of Alexei Navalny. “It’s Near Here” is her third novel, and the first written in exile.
The main characters, best friends Eva and Nika, have not communicated or seen each other for 10 years, and after an unexpected meeting they are forced to go on the run across all of Russia. On the way, they will have to face FSB agents, bandits, cold, hunger and - what’s worst of all - their own past.
Yarmysh’s first novel, “Incredible Incidents in Women’s Cell No. 3” (2020) - about a girl who ended up in a special detention center for participating in a rally, has already been translated into many languages.
The second book, “Harassment” (2022) - about an office worker who became a victim of harassment, was published when the author had already left Russia.
Come talk and ask questions!
The meeting moderator is Alexandra Zerkaleva, editor of the Meduza publishing house
Kira Yarmysh’s books will be available for purchase and signing at the meeting.
