Do Czech lands have one or more literature? How does the 19th century works sound today in a professional recitation of actors? Joint history of Czech and German literature of the Czech lands (1760—1920), which are authors are Václav Smyčka, Václav Petrbok, Jan Budňák, Ladislav Futtera, Martin Hrdina, Mirek Němek and Matouš Turek. Excerpts will be commented by Václav Petrbok, Ladislav Futtera and Václav Smyčka. The common history of Czech and German written literature of the Czech lands (1760—1920)
about Czech and German written literature from the Czech lands has so far been told in separate stories that were to justify the peculiarity of national literature. This book, on the other hand, views the development of literature in the Czech lands as a whole. It follows the ways of literary works through the perception, action and feeling of man of the 19th century, ie various forms of his subjectivity across Czech and German literature. It tells of the rise, nationalization and the crisis of self -impairment of a person associated with the Enlightenment with faith into the ability to cultivate and harmonize their heart. In addition to famous personalities such as Karel Hynek Mácha, Josef Kajetan Tyl, Božena Němcová, Adalbert Stifter, Marie von Ebner-Eschenbach and Franz Kafka, hundreds of less well-known and forgotten authors who have innovated literary means and together shaped modern painting.
