Joint exhibition of contemporary photography "Week of Photography"
is a conscious parasitic organism that clings to an already existing body (interest) in order to draw attention from it,
and at the same time enters it with new vitality.
The project on the edge or rather beyond the edge of the official program "Photos of the Moon" instead of presenting complete authorial statements focuses on the experimental part of the spectrum of creation, on the intersection of processes, tests, mistakes, incompleteness and ghosts that take place in the space between the image and its possibility. The exhibition is not a static exposition, but an open field of interactions between the authors, the material and the architecture of the place. Photography here happens as a constant translation between presence and trace, between physical and digital, between what is graspable and what escapes.
In a non-gallery space, the painting becomes an object that responds to its context of past functions and opens the question: where does the painting take place today/now? Is it still the surface of the photographic medium, or is it already a network of relationships, discourses, algorithms and movements? It does not offer a hierarchy of authors or an aesthetic order, but a reflexive environment in which individual works change, absorb, supplement or cancel each other. In this sense, it is a performative act – an exhibition as an environment that lives only during its duration. The parasitic nature is a survival strategy in a system crowded with images, which does not come with an alternative, but with a question - how can one create and think about photography in an environment that already functions as a permanent exhibition?
