Ulicami strateného mesta - Vydrica a Zuckermandel - 3. apríla 2026

From Bratislava's Podhradie, only fragments of the original architecture have survived to this day. These two settlements in Podhrady - Vydrica and Zuckermandel have an extremely rich history closely connected with Bratislava. Through their stories, we will get to know many important personalities and remember important events and connections from the history of our city.

Thanks to the opening of Vydrice streets, we will walk directly in the places where those stories took place.

We will start the tour at the Bratislava Meridian, pass by the Water Tower, take a look at the ice pits, show Kempelen's water pipes, and tell the story of the Church of the Holy Trinity and the famous Father Scherz, who worked here for many years. Through the preserved renaissance manors on Zuckermandla, we will remember the times of the Ottoman wars, and through the modern blocks we will also look into the totalitarian era of our history and the controversial 90s.
We will also remember Chatam Sofer and the memory of our Jewish co-residents of old Bratislava.

Dress and wear comfortable shoes, we will also walk up the stairs. Where we go will depend on how much I talk and how long we can last. (duration approx. 120 min)
