About event
The extraordinary tour will be dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the birth and the 30th anniversary of the premature death of Karel Kryl, a unique poet and voice of the nation.
Kryl's songs have moved people and times. The most famous ones will be performed by David Uličník in the original acoustic guitar performance. Protest songs such as "Majesty of executioners", "King and Clown" or "Passage Revolt" are not only an important reminder of history, but also an opportunity to look at current events through Kryl's work.
"Kryl's wisdom, rebellious voice and insight into today's the world misses a lot. Commemorating his important life anniversaries with an extraordinary concert program is for me personally, but I believe for all of us, a unique opportunity to realize that the things Karel Kryl sang about still apply. He was a rebel who cut through words like a saber and brought poetry to life. He was a great Czech poet. I want his songs to be heard here and now and to celebrate Karel Kryl" - says David Uličník about his new project.
