spiritual and spirituality in the contemporary film
How do we reflect today in the film of priests, religious sisters and consecrated? Do we see the difference between religion and spirituality? The look of director Iva Kúšiková, author of films about Zdenka Schelingová and Titus Zeman and Ivan Ostrochovský, director of the film Servants. She studied Christian Mass Media at the University of Sts. Patrika in Maynooth in Ireland. She graduated from Master's studies at the University of Bornemouth in England. 2000. She completed her doctoral studies in documentary film film at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava in 2015. She created several documentary films about Slovak missionaries working in Romania, Siberia, Kenya, Ukraine, Uganda and Slovakia as well as other films in India, Uganda, Haiti and Albania. In the films of Pilate's Amnesty (2010), I crossed the border (2012), I and try (2013), Pascha - from suffering to life (2015) audiovisually elaborated the testimonies of religious persons persecuted by the totalitarian communist regime, František Mikloškom presented the book of mystic twentieth century. When organizing the escape of six wrongly imprisoned priests, it turned out that it was a trap prepared by the State Security. This was followed by inhuman listening and cruel torture. Despite the story of her suffering, the main theme of the film about Sister Zdenka determines two variables, and this is love and forgiveness. Ivan Ostrochovský
Ivan Ostrochovský is a graduate of the Department of Audiovisual Studies and Department of Documentary Film and Television Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts. He has a respectable number of realizations and film collaborations on his account. In addition to the film Servants (2020), he directed the film Goat (2015) or documents of lightoplachiness (2023), velvet terrorists (2013), Ilja (2009) and others.
