the Ukraine Institute and Classical Now! Present to all resurrected. The program shows the resilience of Ukrainian music that cannot be given small. The concert is also the presentation of Anthologies of Ukrainianmusic: a new series of sheet music with unpublished Ukrainian compositions. The program explicitly makes the connection with the present, with recent work by Sviatoslav Lunyov and Maxim Shalygin, Diehet Chamber Orchestra of the North conducts. Thanks to an impressive lighting design by Nico de Rooij you get completely immersed in the music.
In the Soviet time a lot of music was banned because it was found too modern, too quirky or not Russian enough. The edition of the Anthologies is an important reparation for this forgotten repertoire. Pianist Antonii BaryShevskyi plays fractured surfaces of Vitaly Hodziatsky, an avant-garde who was active in Kyiv in the 1960s.
In the musical life in Kyiv, the spirit of innovation remained unbroken, thanks in part to inspirator Valentin Silvestrov. The Chamber Orchestra of the North Placed Tristium of Silvestrov's younger spirit Sviatoslav Lunyov - a moving, contemplative piece and a musical portrait of the river and Levensme Dnipro, which comes to the music wide and wide. Antonii BaryShevskyi concludes with Shalygins monumental to all resurrected, a crushing etude of twenty minutes that the program gives its title.

Maxim Shalygin (1985) is one of the most striking composers of his generation. Born in Ukraine and since 2010 based in the Netherlands, he developed an extremely personal musical language. His music balances between spirituality and emotional power, between stillness and explosion, and grows organically. His style is adventurous and deep-rooted in tradition, with a spiritual stratification that reminds us of his Eastern European roots.
Shalygin composes in various genres, from chamber music and vocal works to electro -brainestinical compositions, music for film, theater and his first opera: Amandante. His compositions were performed on stages such as Carnegie Hall, KlaraFestival, the goals and the Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ.
