Uncertain Futures, Constant Care is influenced by the current political climates of Hungary and Slovakia, where the artistic landscapes are increasingly shaped by the demands of governing political parties, leading to significant and unsettling changes. Creative freedom feels fragile, as many face growing pressure to follow political agendas, which target the independent and queer scenes. This environment strongly affects our work, even though we mainly create outside our home countries.
Amidst these challenges, we find common ground in our shared frustration and uncertainty about our positions within our respective home scenes. This shared experience has become a focal point for our collaboration, which we are exploring in Vienna — a city that, for both of us, currently represents a place where we can critically reflect on our complex relationships with our home countries and aim to navigate these tensions.
This project is supported by the instrument RRF and Czech National recovery plan as of Next Generation EU program, Call No. 0315/2023 - Development of Competences: Projects of International Artistic and Professional Cooperation in the Czech Republic II.
This project of residences was financially supported as part of the project "Pomíjivé rezidence" by the South Moravian Region.
The project is implemented thanks to financial support within the year-long project "CO.LABS_pomíjivost" by the City of Brno.
