About event
With among others, Manja Präkels and Nils Schumacher
Moderation: Jens Uthoff
In the course of social and political processes of the past years, which in a manifestation of right-wing and populist developments and not recently based on election results, are asked how to counteract the socio-cultural approaches to them. How can initiatives, projects and institutions be strengthened beyond metropolitan regions in the course of this cultural struggle of the right, if cultural-political committees are suddenly occupied by cultural policy bodies as at the state level?
Along with this, a new generation of young, right -wing extremist activists seem to flourish, attack or threaten the projects if they do not correspond to their world view. Whether this is a backlash or whether this is more likely to be a continuity of the so -called baseball batons should be discussed on the panel as well as whether the idea of self -managed culture has the potential to create social cohesion as a social resilience against these developments.
Manja Präkels (*1974) is an author and musician. She lives in Berlin and Brandenburg where she documented the diverse upheavals of the nineties as a reporter.
