About event
One in red. Seven in progress.
When is a Piece completed? When is it ready for the stage and how does a piece live on after the performance? This evening brings together seven pieces on stage that are in the making and one piece that is completed. This creates a dialogue between the vulnerability of showing parts of the creation process and the closure of the finished work.
What unites all the pieces is the confrontation with and examination of forces that transcend the individual and perhaps even the human. They all explore forces within, conditions without, and what happens when these forces collide. Between violence and power, shame and anger or chaos and connection, each piece looks for its own unforeseen moments of relief, humor or poetry.
Ultimately, all pieces embark on a journey that raises more questions than answers. Rather than setting a point of conclusive truth, this collection of short pieces celebrates processes of research and exploration - processes that should remain unfinished.
Unfinished. A collection of (short) pieces
One in red. Seven in progress.
When is a piece finished? When is it ready to be put on stage and how does a piece live on even after the performance? In this evening of collected works seven pieces are put on stage that are in the making and one piece that is finished. A dialogue opens up on stage between the vulnerability of sharing parts of the creation process and the finality of a work completed.
All pieces share the confrontation with and investigation of forces that go beyond the individual or even human. They explore forces from within, conditions on the outside and what happens when those forces meet. Between violence and power to shame and rage, to chaos and connection – every piece searches for its own unexpected moments of relief, humor or poetry.
In the end, the pieces embark on journeys that raise more questions than provide answers, instead of marking a point of one single truth this collection of short pieces celebrates ongoing processes.
