About event
Only on Sunday, September 7, 2025, the full moon will come over the eastern horizon around half past eight in the evening, it will not be just an ordinary full moon. Since it will be immersed in the Earth's shadow as a result of the ongoing complete eclipse, it will be weaker and redder than usual. How much is the question ... The moon is low on the horizon normally noticeably orange - it is due to the scattering of the sunlight reflected from the moon that passes through the Earth's atmosphere and loses its blue component (so it remains mostly orange to red). During a complete eclipse, however, the moon will be illuminated only by sunlight distracted in the Earth's atmosphere. As a result, anything from the bloody red moon to the "chocolate" Luna, which we can easily overlook in the sky. Unfortunately, there will be little time to observe exceptional coloring. Shortly before nine o'clock in the evening, the complete eclipse will end and the next hour we will see how the dark earth's shadow retreats from the monthly disk. Another monthly eclipse awaits us in less than a year, 28 August 2026.
