About event
How to sustainably transform a large exhibition area so that it can withstand new uses? When does it make sense to build only temporarily? And how is architecture created that stands up on a pan-European scale? As part of the Urban Talks cycle, representatives of the winners of the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture - Mies van der Rohe Award will come to us and present their projects as newly awarded authors. The transformation of the Charleroi Palais des Expositions in Belgium by AgwA and architecten jan de vylder inge vinck, winner of the Architecture Winner award, shows how one can work with the existing building, its capacity and new layers by removing redundant elements. The winner of the Emerging Winner category, Temporary Spaces for the Slovenian National Theater Drama in Ljubljana by the studio Vidic Grohar Arhitekti, in turn opens the topic of temporary architecture, which is not just a temporary structure, but a full-fledged background of a cultural institution during the reconstruction of its historical building.
The evening will feature:

Jure Grohar / Vidic Grohar Arhitekti – Temporary Spaces for Slovenian National Theater Drama
