About event
Some books quietly attach themselves to you and stay there long after you've finished reading them. The title Úsvit ta hladí is exactly like that.
We cordially invite you to a literary evening called Úsvit ta hladí - a meeting with Bulgarian poetry, dedicated to the presentation of the Slovak translation of selected poems by the Bulgarian poet Elena Andreeva.
• June 12, 2026 (Friday)
• 6 p.m.
• Martinus Bookshop, Obchodná 26, Bratislava
The book brings to Slovak readers a selection from the poetry of Elena Andreeva, translated by Igor Hochel and with illustrations by Mária Kadlečíková. Her poetry touches on the themes of love, interpersonal relationships, solitude, spiritual search and the mysteries of human existence. The author's verses combine sensitivity, rich imagery and deep humanity, which appeals to the reader long after they have finished reading.
The event is held under the auspices of Her Excellency Snežana Joveva-Dimitrová, Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Slovak Republic.
The organizer of the event is the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Bratislava in partnership with the bookstore. Martinus.
The Slovak edition of the book was realized with the kind financial support of Mrs. Anna Kubik.
We look forward to meeting you!
Entrance is free.
