About event
A two-hour free dance jam with a short opening and closing sharing circle. Previous experience with contact improvisation is not required.
We dance in the music hall at ZŠ Kotlářská 4. Entrance from Kounicova street, under arcs.

⏰ Arrival at the jam is possible from 19:00, we start by calming down and approx. at 19:10 we will meet in opening circle.
🕺 The capacity of the space is about 15 people, we consider "I will participate" here on FB as registering for the event.
💰 The contribution to the jam is 50 CZK. When there are less than 10 dancers, the contribution is increased to cover the rent of 500 CZK. The organizing organizer does not pay.

General information:
👉 Contact improvisation (CI) is a form of modern dance based on spontaneous movement interaction founded in 1972. The intention of contact improvisation is to be in contact with one's own body, with the floor, walls, space and usually with other dancers. Contact improvisation is not a classic pair dance and does not teach the steps that the dancers follow, but rather lets themselves be freely inspired by the basic recommended techniques, such as weight transfer, own work with boundaries, coming and going from contact, stretching, pushing, leading, following or scrolling. Dancers work with pressure, center, weight, dynamics, level, whether together, in pairs, threes, larger groups or individually. As part of contact improvisation, you have the opportunity to explore movement in your body on different levels - from cells, bones, muscles, tendons, fascia to skin.
👉 Sharing a dance with another person can be intense and intimate. However, romantic or sexual intentions are not tolerated in contact improvisation. It's really just a dance.
👉 Contact Improvisation Pits Brno follow on from the Contact Improvisation Laboratory and are open to anyone who wants to discover and develop the principles and techniques of contact improvisation together with like-minded people.
