"Cultural evolution builds [man] into a rapidly changing environment to which he is not adapted and which he does not know. The disproportion between the rapid progress of natural sciences and the backwardness of cultural sciences allows a person to manipulate himself and society in a situation where he does not understand himself or society. The survival of humanity will largely depend on whether and how quickly this disproportion can be eliminated."

🟠 CATHY VAN ECK (1979, Netherlands) composes relationships between everyday objects, performers and sound in her work. He is interested in creating unusual, surprising or poetic relationships between gestures and sounds, mostly using electronic means. The result of her work can be called performative sound art - it combines elements of performative art, electronic music and visual art. She works as a teacher at the Academy of Arts in Bern, Switzerland. Her book Between Air and Electricity – Microphones and Loudspeakers as Musical Instruments was published in 2017. She is a member of iii (instruments inventors initiative) and lives and works in Zurich. // www.cathyvaneck.net
🟠 Prof. RNDr. VLADIMIR KOVAČ, CSc. (1958, Slovakia) is a biologist and ichthyologist. For almost 40 years, he worked at the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the Comenius University as a university teacher and researcher. He is devoted to the ecology of aquatic animals, especially fish, ontogenesis, evolution and biological invasions. He is dedicated to the monitoring of ecosystems in Slovak rivers, in the summer of 2022 in an interview for Denník N he reported that they are in worse condition than Slovak forests. In 2010, he developed the National method for determining the ecological status of waters according to fish. He is the author of dozens of scientific studies published in prestigious foreign journals. 🟠 OOO ASSOCIATION was created in the spring of 2020 from the need to create a dedicated space for exploring the world through sound art, contemporary music and intermedial art. The association's authorial and curatorial interest is focused on projects that delve into complex relationships between human and non-human beings, including areas of acoustic ecology, deep listening, environmental and social topics and disciplines such as anthropology, philosophy, mathematics and other fields of knowledge.
