Jesuit priest James Martin is urging Catholic leaders to treat LGBTQ+ believers in a new way, characterized by compassion and openness. An inspiring book by the American Jesuit James Martin will be presented at the meeting. The author is based on his many years of meetings with people "on both sides of the bridge" and in his reflections on the three virtues proposed by the Catechism of the Catholic Church — respect, compassion and consideration — suggests the possibilities of how representatives of the Catholic hierarchy and LGBTQ+ Christians can approach each other on the path of mutual reconciliation. The performance will be attended by a representative of the Petrinum publishing house and representatives of the association Logos Česká republika, which has long been dedicated to the pastoral care of LGBTQ+ believers and their dialogue with church representatives.
The publication of the book represents a publishing venture that is desperately needed in today's climate of division.
