About event
We invite you to the launch of Standy Biler's new novel, The Most Beautiful City on Earth!
Șnîslav Biler is a journalist for the daily Alarm, in which he mainly focuses on domestic politics, education, the Czech peripheries, and Brno. He received two journalism awards for his work. He wrote two works of fiction, The Best Candidate and Destruction. For the second of them, he received the Magnesia litera prize for prose of the year. In addition to fiction, he published a guide to 111 must-see places in Brno. His new novel will be more about places that no one should see.
18:00 - 18:30 Presentation of the book in discussion with Eva Klíčová
18:30 - 19:00 Author's reading Standy Biler
“It would be enough to paint a transition here. After all, these are all such little things that will surely be resolved quickly so that the hero can return to where he came from. However, the search for a solution almost cost him his life, as well as his sanity. As if he found himself not in the second largest city of the country, but in the middle of a humanitarian disaster. Is it even possible to live somewhere where it is impossible to even cross the road? Is it possible to live in Brno? A book on the border between existential science fiction and dystopia."
You will be able to purchase the book on the spot and have it signed by the author.
We look forward to seeing you!
