About event
UX / Košice organizes a traditional community meeting in the form of inspiring lectures and networking.
Topic UX / PIVA #14: UX and security
PROGRAMME:
5:30 p.m. - 18:15
UX design and its power to (not) protect users
Tomáš Štolc / ESET HQ
-------------------- -------------
Doing good user design is a noble work. Designers design products, services (anything around us) taking into account the needs of users and make them more accessible, better and also safer. But sometimes it happens that UX design is forgotten and the common frustration of using things can turn into dangerous situations. Well, when UX design approaches are misused to manipulate and deceive users, it borders on fraud and crime.
Tomáš works as a UX designer and researcher in one person. At ESET, he focuses on the UX of user journeys for subscription services. It examines the needs of users at all stages of using ESET services. Together with his colleagues, he creates the best possible website for users from all over the world - from Slovakia to the USA to Australia. His view of UX design is based on the idea that UX design is all around us - in the digital as well as the physical world, while these two worlds complement each other and cannot be separated.
18.15 - 19.00
Usability vs. Security
Martin Mucha / Caterpillar
--------------------------------
How are usability and security related, and how to deal with them? In his lecture, Martin will address the issue of "how to properly balance usability and security when building digital products". Using the example of creating the activation process of the Slovakia Mobile application, he will explain why the right balance is important, and who is part of such a process in practice.
Martin has been involved in design for almost 10 years. He started as a freelance graphic designer, later moved to several agencies and also worked as a Brand Manager at Red Bull. During that time, he had the opportunity to work on a number of interesting foreign projects, but he was most moved by the work on the creation of the Digital Ecosystem for the citizens of Slovakia. He currently works at Caterpillar, where he builds a global design team. He enjoys working on projects that create real added value for the end user and is a big fan of Figma as a digital product.
19:00 - 20:00
