About event

The year has come to a close and we can proudly announce the fifth Museum Night at the Uhříněveské Museum.

This year also boasts a rich program. A significant part of it will be connected to the 155th anniversary of the railway in Uhřínevsi. Traffic arteries that forever and fundamentally changed the course of (not only) local history. That is why you will be treated to a lecture by Tomáš Bezouška and a spectacular Steam Show by James Watt on the subject of the railway line.

The construction of the railway fundamentally influenced the stage of modern history in Uhříněvs, so we will also follow it up with an effective exhibition of Live Photography. With the help of modern technologies, we were able to move black-and-white photos, especially from the times of the existence of the sugar factory and the brick factory, of which today we only have the remains and memories of the witnesses. The exhibition reflects a look back at the boom era, which will be an essential part of the permanent exhibition of the Uhříněveské Museum, which is currently being worked on diligently. In connection with this, you will also be able to take a look at the Echoes section of the permanent exhibition, in which you will see under the hood of what is coming.

And for lovers of black-and-white films, there will also be a screening of the film U svatého Antoníček from 1933, in which the famous painter Ota Bubeníček, a native of Uhřínivés, played a role - and few people know this. This is a unique moment in the life of the famous artist, when he appeared on the movie screen.

There will be workshops for children and adults, engaging historical mechanical games, live music, refreshments and a relaxed atmosphere slowly inducing pleasure on a balmy summer night.

From the musical production, you can look forward to a performance by Jiří Šámal with the Swiss percussion instrument hang drum, Nordic and Breton songs by the music duo Zajiste and the highlight of the program, the imaginary grand finale will be a violin cut performed by VioLin.

We look forward to seeing you from 5 to 10 p.m.
