About event
Comic book pop-up concert
Beauty is magic. The unattainable goal, the drug, the power and the curse. Product and capital, lucky coin of fate and eternal memento mori. Social networks convey the impression of beauty, consume it, and to lose it is to lose the joker in the unfair game of capitalism. Beauty is a privilege. We already know that women are evaluated much more based on their appearance (and often only based on it), that beautiful people are attributed more positive qualities, get better jobs, and are treated better by society in many ways. But what is the chance of liberation when we also know that capitalism will transform every revolt into a new product?
Four women in a comic concert according to the Swedish author Liv Strömquist will guide you through the jungle of perfect faces on social networks, the dark forest of Snow White's murder and the royal court of Empress Sissi. How is it with the self-concept on Instagram? And why shouldn't women strive to be liked when it's so obvious that it really matters? And isn't something falling here?
DIRECTOR: Lucie Ferenzová
STARRING: Nataša Bednářová, Anita Krausová, Markéta Ptáčníková, Anežka Šťastná
