On Thursday 5 December 2024, after Ondřej Cikán's lecture on the translation of the Bloody Novel into German, there will be a dernissage of the exhibition of the works of Josef Váchal in the permanent exhibition of the Museum of Literature The Broken World.
The dernissage concludes the exhibition of Váchal's works in the exhibition in an interval of three months, they alternated the originals of the artist's works, always focusing on a specific one theme.
The final exchange of exhibits represents what the legendary woodcarver liked best, i.e. animals, or his work with motifs of animals and the animal world. On display will be the entire woodcut cycle Ten stories about dogs, free woodcuts The world of my dog, Two dogs, Asta, Cat / Our Doxa, Conversation between animals and humans and watercolors of portraits of Saint Francis and other works.
Dernisage course
the work of the writer T. R. Fiedl, who, like J. Váchal, lived in Prague's Vršovice, will be presented by the curator Jakub Hauser in the following years as part of the permanent exhibition
· subsequent free program in the cafe of the Museum of Literature associated with the sale of books by the Ketos publishing house and an autograph signing by Ondřej Cikán
· musical accompaniment on the Estonian zither (kannel) Eliška Vidomus, bandleader of the Fanfán group Tulip
