Van Baerle Trio / Dutch Delight / De Oosterpoort

The Van Baerle Trio has been working successfully (inter)nationally for twenty years. The three players are perfectly attuned to each other, but each also has a great track record individually. Hannes Minnaar is one of the most successful Dutch pianists of the moment. Violinist Maria Milstein won the Dutch Music Prize in 2018, Gideon den Herder is leader of the cellists of the Residentie Orchestra. In recent years, the Van Baerle Trio recorded a series of CDs with all of Beethoven's piano trios, which can effortlessly compete with the most celebrated recordings. Before the break, NPO Classical presenter Beitske de Jong will join the trio in conversation and get to know the musicians in a more personal way. You will also hear part of the piano trio that composer, producer and DJ Gabriel Prokofiev – indeed, the grandson of – wrote for them. After the break we return to tradition with Haydn and Schumann. In between you hear the sometimes subdued, sometimes rhythmically exciting Tryptich, a work by Rob Zuidam written especially for these three excellent musicians and premiered last March.
