Tugela's Short Film Festival 'Van Eigen Bodem' shows that Dutch identity nowadays consists of much more than clogs, cheese, tulips or the princess waiting for her prince on a white horse. Dive into the disarming buildings of Tugela85 and Boost-Amsterdam and experience a dynamic evening full of surprises.

What connects the films this year is: 'Moving stories and dreams: a journey beyond the boundaries of the self'

The following films can be seen:
Anamnesis | Azouz Abdulazez | 10:00” | 2025
The journey of an exile: nostalgia, war, memories and Berlin.

How did the camels shadows make it to Amsterdam | Dina Mohamed | 11:00” | 2023
3 camels went on an adventure across land and sea. A travel story in 3 chapters.

Wasted potential | Kelly Valentina Caporossi | 17:50" | 2024
Victor's reality is turned upside down when his best friend is murdered and all evidence leads to one person, ... his ex-boyfriend.

Echo | Wael Kadlo | 4:20" | 2025
My escape from the chemical bomb on the outskirts of Amsterdam.

The other face | Robin van Erven Dorens | 12:21” | 2025
Two activist bronze monuments by Nelson Carrilho play their own unique role in public space.

Love Natural | Kristof West | 5:21” | 2022
Love Natural explores instinctive love, its complexity, neglect and the universal bond we all share.

The program has been put together by Dina Mohamed (multimedia artist/researcher) and Noud Verhave (co-artistic leader of the Moving Arts Project).
