About event

The Italian film returns the universally loved Dutch artist to the places of his life and work through personal correspondence. At the same time, the little-known fate of a woman who was one of the first to recognize his talent is intertwined with him. Today we consider Vincent van Gogh to be a universally loved artist. But it wasn't always like that. At the same time, very little is said about the man who was one of the first to recognize van Gogh's talent and made a significant contribution to the promotion of his works. Helene Kröller-Müller was the richest woman in Holland in her time. Although she intervened in the artist's story only after his death, the film portrays her as an integral part of it. He interweaves their correspondence and finds in the dead artist's views inspiration for his own philanthropy and thinking about the world. However, the picture only introduces a journey to get to know van Gogh's fragile soul, which takes shape at the places of his life and work. The artist, who was able to imprint the depth of his emotions in his brushstrokes, follows him from the familiar church in Auvers to the exhibition in Italy.
