A glow in the chaos
Looking back on ten years of band history in your mid-twenties requires one thing above all: trust in each other. Flo Kiesling, Daniel Kotitschke and Jonas Schramm, together VAN HOLZEN, announce on their fourth studio album “SOLANG DIE ERDE SICH TREHT” (release: September 12, 2025) with a wink “I want to be young and stupid forever” and dedicate an album about growing up together or not wanting to grow up together about moving on in the midst of chaos. About letting yourself fall and being caught. So, after three albums, numerous tours and getting older in the construct of a rock band, they have become confident in their cause amidst the chaos. After “Aus der Ferne”, the album that was last released in 2021, they have tried their hand at singles for the first time that are not tied to a complete work. In features with Mia Morgan and Dissy, VAN HOLZEN honed their skills on catchy hooks and less vague lyrics. In 2023 you could hear the band sounding beyond the boundaries of their own genre for the first time. In the darkness associated with alternative rock, a light was lit that soon lit the way to their fourth album. From October 2023, work began on “AS LONG AS THE EARTH TURNS” - first under the Greek sun, then in the 8sqm studio space in Berlin. After a few sessions spread over 2024, the album was finally brought to Rotenburg an der Fulda in October, where it was produced in the Toolhouse Studio by kidney paradise and Flo Kiesling. Also due to Kiesling's involvement in the production, VAN HOLZEN are now closer than ever in their work. “ASOLANG THE EARTH TURNS” is an honest, therapeutic album, from whose lyrics, which are no longer too vague, you can draw the conclusion that all darkness is brighter and every setback is less paralyzing as long as you go through life together. This feeling of connection also shines through on the audience and makes the trio's energetic concerts special. The next tour starts on November 6th, 2025 and includes 16 dates. And on stage and in the hall you know: you couldn't be here without each other. “AS LONG THE EARTH TURNS” stretches out its hands in words and sound: towards the audience, towards the best friends, upwards, towards the light.
