Peru's highest volcano and the country's 3rd highest peak is Coropuna, which stretches 6425m above sea level.
From the Quechua language, the name means Golden Mountain.
To this day, it is one of the most sacred mountains for the locals, at the foot of which many offerings and sacrifices were made.
Also human sacrifice.
This did not happen recently, so from this point of view the leader of VándorLáss, Zoltán Kovács-Kovi-Zoltan, was not in danger.
Since he was camping at an altitude of 5300m in the base camp he used, he had to overcome a difference in level of approximately 1150m approximately 6 kilometers away. But his journey began somewhere in Central Europe, in a remote Slovakian village. Quite far away in space and time...
It is exciting and interesting that he completed this distance and level (up and down) with nearly 14 hours of walking, holding on, and descending.
