About event
Three voices of the European experimental scene - dreamy Vanessa Amara, dark Rent and energetic Kukorica in one evening in Nova Cvernovka.
Danish duo Vanessa Amara brings a dreamy collage of contemporary classics, experimental pop and absurd playfulness - the musical equivalent of comfort food. Their new album café LIFE, released as the last release of the cult label Posh Isolation, balances between nostalgia and futurism, intimacy and alienation.
Austrian producer Rent will bring dark ambient landscapes where noise, silence and mists turn into fragile emotions. Hungarian producer Kukorica will close the evening with his visionary electronica - pulsating, unpredictable and disturbingly captivating.

✨ Vanessa Amara
The mysterious Danish project Vanessa Amara moves on the borders of absurd playfulness, contemporary classical music and experimental pop - and creates something like the musical equivalent of comfort food. Their work is difficult to categorize - they compose songs from fragments of vocals and classical samples that are intimate, cheerful, disturbing and beautiful at the same time.
Their latest album cafe LIFE was released earlier this year as the last album by the legendary Copenhagen label Posh Isolation. Vanessa Amara thus symbolically became the last voice of this label, which over the years set the tone for the European experimental scene.
"The album café LIFE is the album of the year for me. This incredibly skillfully made pop collage is first of all fun, but at the same time euphoric, warm and incredibly beautiful." dramaturg Daniel, who invited Vanessa Amara to Cvernovka, tells us.
The duo's music acts as an "unreliable narration of our memories" - familiar and at the same time completely new, melancholic and playful, always interwoven with humanity. As one listener wrote: "I can't stop listening to this record. It's so new and yet familiar. The sampling, cuts and mix are something I've never heard before."
The cafe LIFE album is the culmination of their long-term exploration of chamber pop and "textural dissolution" - music that teeters between nostalgia and futurism, intimacy and alienation. As the authors themselves write: "We hope that music, words and feeling can work as a gesture towards a shared experience of life." href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8sjbaw8yAvI">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8sjbaw8yAvI
✨ Rent
Rent's music, which moves somewhere on the border between dark ambient and noise, evokes industrial ecosystems, connections and dark landscapes with its stories. At the same time, it allows the very processes of sound creation to come to the surface - the tones influence each other, amplify, interfere, break up into noise and combine again. They sound like a city, like a random car alarm that then disappears in the fog.
The Austrian musician Katrin Euller is behind the name Rent, who released her debut album Kill A Phantom in June 2024 together with the Viennese label Ventil Records. It was preceded by the EP As Cold As Sunlight (2023), created in collaboration with TRANSFORMER and Wilhelm Show me the Major Label.
Euller is an active part of several artistic collaborations and a member of the EAERES and EXIT VOID collectives. Her music oscillates between intimacy and industrial power, between concreteness and loss in vague misty horizons.

✨ Kukorica
Kukorica is a producer and musician from Budapest who refuses to settle into one genre - instead, he constantly experiments and pushes the boundaries of electronic music. What remains constant in his work is a passion for dynamic motifs and the ability to build captivating, tense atmospheres.
On the Exiles label, he released the album Ceramic Tears, in which sensitivity for detail meets playfulness and sonic daring. Kokorica creates music that is as unpredictable as it is absorbing - always on the border between experiment and dance pulse.
