Tchaikovsky's First Symphony, with the title "Winter Dreams", its theme is perfectly in tune with the current season. The first movement, Dreaming on a Snowy Road, is the most distinctive part of the symphony with its melancholic and poetic character. But the real reason for presenting this symphony is precisely the second movement. It is proof of the composer's talent to translate singing and lyricism into musical form. An emotionally deep piece, it radiates the calm and nostalgia of a winter environment.
Hindemith's Tuttifäntchen is a Christmas story about a wooden figure that comes to life thanks to the magic of love and art. The music originally composed for the puppet play Tuttifäntchen was intended especially for children, therefore it reflects the playfulness of children's play. The suite connects a fairy tale with musical modernity. Rhythmic dance and lyrical passages appear here.
