About event
world Christmas songs and carols
We have decided to prepare a unique Christmas gift for all the viewers of the Brno Municipal Theatre, which will be a Christmas concert presented in several reruns at the MdB Music Stage.
The program of the concert will consist of a "golden pool" of Christmas songs and carols arranged by Günther Gürsch, Christian Kolonovits and Igor Vavrda - Silent Night, White Christmas, I'll Be Home For Christmas, We Wish You A Merry Christmas... The orchestra of our theater will certainly shine in the instrumental Winter Wonderland, among the selected songs both Lennon's This Is Christmas and Cohen's Hallelujah will appear. Our musical repertoire will remind you of the Special Sign from the musical Markéta Lazarová, Pie Jesu from Andrew Lloyd Webber's Requiem by world musical composers, and of course there will be traditional Czech carols, e.g. the iconic song Christ the Lord was born and many others.
The singing elite of our ensemble will perform the songs - Lucie Bergerová, Radka Coufalová, Kristýna Daňhelová, Hana Holišová, Martina Severová, Magda Vitková, Aleš Slanina, Dušan Vitázek and Lukáš Vlček, who will perform accompanied by the Ars Brunensis choir, the Bystroušek children's choir and the orchestra Brno Municipal Theater under the direction of chief conductor and choirmaster Dan Kalouska. The script and direction of this entire production is the work of Igor Ondříček.
