Vánoční ponor u Karlova mostu

We continue the tradition of Christmas swimming on Strělecké ostrov! This year we will meet for the sixth time. This is an unorganized happening for lovers or adepts of winter swimming in nature. Neither Wim nor Hoff will come, but we will still enjoy a beautiful Vltava dive within sight of the Charles Bridge and the National Theatre. We will meet at noon on Christmas Day at the north-eastern tip of Strelecky Island (that's the one downstream towards Novotné Lávka). You won't find a ToiToi, a changing room, security, catering or even a medical service on site. On the spot, you might find a few crazy people with a good heart who come to cleanse their body and soul in the cool waves of the Vltava before Christmas Eve. It will be the way everyone makes it. Swimming is purely for pleasure and at each die-hard's own risk. We recommend a swimsuit (there will probably be a few people around feeding the swans...) and a thermos with a welder (until after the dive...).
