About event
Varieté Krhut is the original author's show of musician, lyricist and entertainer Jiří Krhut, whose home stage became Klub Heligonka, where he performed his repertoire in Cabaret Bo. Krhut's solo variety show is a mosaic of stand-ups, sketches and scenic songs inspired by the peculiar life not only of Ostrava and its surroundings. The performance will draw you into bizarre situations from the environment such as pawnshops, moneylenders, markets, fitness centers, employment offices, post-trust sales events, Ostrava's Stodolní Street, Ajťáci and others. Varieté Krhut is a selection of the best from both programs Varieté 1 and 2.
Jiří Krhut is a musician, composer, lyricist and entertainer. His home stage became Klub Heligonka, where in 2016 he appeared for the first time in Ostrava's Bo Cabaret with his songs and skits. He currently has his own show in Heligonka called Varieté Krhut a U Krhuta. At his performances, he draws the audience into his funny sketches, skits, poems, anecdotes and scenic songs. As a composer, he also contributed to the work of well-known Czech performers, such as Ewa Farna, František Segrado, Vojtěch Dyk, Karel Šíp, Lenka Nová, Jiří Korn, Mirai Navrátil, or the Czech legend Marie Rottrová. At the end of 2019, Jiří Krhut released his solo record called Čapkárna, an album of funny and cheerful songs from his cabaret and variety shows. In the summer of 2020, he got together with the actor Štěpán Kozub and together they recorded an album called I Crack the Whip, which quickly gained attention across generations. Krhut also wrote the lyrics for the original author's musical "Harpagon is a miser?" of the Moravian-Silesian National Theater and wrote the music and lyrics for the theater comedy Provaz o one end for the theater in Vinohrady.
