About event
During twenty years of archaeological research, the previously little-known Valy castle in the Bojná cadastre and the network of other fortifications and sites in its vicinity became well-known among experts and the lay public. In addition to the remarkable results of the excavations, the discovered historical artifacts from the Great Moravian period, an important part of our national history, also deserved it. The oldest bell, a set of relief gilded plaques from the altar or a processional cross are symbols of the beginnings of Christianity in our country.
Visitors' authentic encounter with history on the central hillfort is enhanced by the reconstruction of Slavic dwellings and the monumental entrance gate. Visitors can see the extraordinary wealth of finds from Bojná in the Museum of Great Moravia there and in the near future also in the prepared archaeological museum in nature.
Next Wednesday, May 13, we will be guided through 20 years of archaeological research in this important complex of archaeological sites by the most professional expert - a well-known Slovak archaeologist, a recognized specialist in protohistory and the early Middle Ages, PhDr. Karol Pieta, DrSc. from the Institute of Archeology SAS, v.v.i.
At 5:00 p.m. in the Archaeological Cafe (SNM – Archaeological Museum in Bratislava), with hot drinks and tasty snacks (for the fragrant Bratislava rolls we thank our lovely sponsors from the civic association Numizmatika Slovensko).
Entrance €3, payment also possible by card.
