The traditions and customs of our ancestors that accompanied the Easter season are not yet a thing of the past. You can experience them on Sunday, March 29, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Museum of the Slovak Village at the event Easter in the Village.
In the program at 10.30, 12.30 and 2.30 p.m. FS Lysec and DFS Malý Lysec from Belej-Dulíce will introduce you to traditional pre-Easter and Easter customs - bringing out the Morena and bringing in the flyer. At the same time, they will also take care of the Easter cake and topping.
Decorated eggs are an integral symbol of the Easter holidays. Visitors to the museum will be able to familiarize themselves with the most common techniques used to decorate Easter eggs during the program Sunday and can also buy them directly from the manufacturers.
In addition to Easter eggs, there will also be demonstrations of knitting baskets, as well as the sale and production of folk art and craft products.
During the pre-Easter fast, animal products were not allowed to be used in cooking. fats. Housewives were thus dependent on vegetable oils. We will show you how it was obtained by pressing in the past, on a tour of the oil mill in Orava.
Creative workshops are also prepared for both small and large visitors, where they will be able to test their skills in decorating Easter eggs. Please bring your own blown or hard-boiled eggs to the creative workshop.
During the event, visitors will be able to try riding a horse.
At 1:30 p.m. will be held ev. a. v. services of God in the church from Rudno.
