About event
The mystical musical, the Czech premiere
Edward Bloom is an ordinary man, but an extraordinary father. He has always told his son Will about his life stories full of imagination, beauty, love and adventure, stories were teeming with witches, giants, sea virgins and heroic deeds that exceeded the limits of credibility. Thus he built the myth of the immortal hero in his eyes. But Adult Will is no longer tired of his father's fantastic stories and insists on a rational, not a fantastic description of his life. When Edward's health gets worse and Will learns that he and his wife Josephine will have their own son, Will decides to reveal the father's "true" life story once and for all to learn who his father is really… About how important the fantasy is in human life and that within the moments of true love we can live forever, that we can discover magic even in the most common moments of our lives. from 1998 and the award -winning film Tim Burton Velká Fish (Big Fish) from 2003. The author of the screenplay for the musical, which saw the light of the Broadway ramp in Neil Simon Theater in 2013, is John August, who is also the author of the film screenplay and signed as screenwriter under other Burton films such as Karlík. (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, 2005), Dead Bride (Corps Bide, 2005) and Frankenweenie (2012). Pigurative music and funny song lyrics come from the pen of Andrew Lippy, which also stands behind the musical component of The Addams Family.
