🥨✨We warmly invite you to an exhibition inspired by the fairytale The Emperor’s Baker (Císařův pekař), which critiques power structures and the absurdity of political decisions to highlight the importance of humanity in our daily lives. This exhibition encourages us to slow down, connect with others, and be fully present in the moment.
Here, ingredients serve as a bridge to deeper understanding and shared experience. Every bite, scent, and texture urges us to reflect on how food shapes our relationships and culture.
Food is an archetype of community, sacrifice, and sharing, embodying transformation and cycles. It is interaction, ritual, and tradition. Food transcends cultural and political acts; it is a necessity, not merely a whim.
AB is an artistic duo founded by @adelazapletalova Adéla Zapletalová and @barboragabova Barbora Gábová. Their collaboration begins and ends with dialogue, a vital thread connecting both artists on a journey through edible installations, culinary experiences, and explorations in photography and object-based art. These connections are essential to fulfilling a shared inner sensibility.
In installations, they emphasize meticulous detail, seasonality, locality, adaptability, and responsiveness to the space and moment. The work is rooted in both individual and collective experience, viewing food as an invitation into a more playful and experimental realm.
